CSU Education Abroad Policies

 


Per directive from the CSU Chancellor’s Office, EO 1081 Exchange Programs and campus activities abroad:

All CSU campuses are required to:

  • Provide an academic review for all activities involving students abroad
  • Provide students with information about study abroad opportunities
  • Provide a pre-departure orientation
  • Provide student travelers with insurance that covers medical evacuation and repatriation

All CSU study abroad programs are required to:

  • Present a coherent, thematic course of study that is congruent to and adjunct with campus curriculum and that relates to the overseas site
  • Have a faculty or staff leader with appropriate experience and expertise related to the program destination and program objectives

Study abroad programs may not:

  • Operate in countries where there is a US State Department Travel Advisor above level 2, unless an exception is granted in writing by the campus president or the chancellor
  • Duplicate a CSUIP program
