Postgraduate Opportunities Abroad

Are you a CSUSB senior or an alumnus seeking an international post-graduation opportunity? Consider these opportunities to increase your international experience, further your education, or build new skills.

Study Abroad with CSUSB

CSUSB-led programs are open to graduating seniors, alumni, and other non-matriculated community members 18 years and older. Visit goabroad.csusb.edu and select the CSUSB-led program you would like to apply to, and click login (upper right corner). Create a new portal account if you are not a current student, or login with your portal account if you have already created one. Non-matriculated students will be admitted to programs only where there is space after CSUSB students have been provided the opportunity to enroll. If admitted, you will be required to pay the associated Program Fee, and to pay tuition and campus fees for the attached CSUSB course(s).

Volunteer Abroad

Volunteering is a great strategy to build your resume for a dream job or graduate school. While unpaid, some volunteer opportunities do provide a stipend for living expenses or transportation costs. You might consider international volunteer opportunities such as:

Work Abroad

Opportunities to work abroad after graduation can be found by searching the US government’s overseas employment listings in addition to general employment websites. Other less formal opportunities can be found through sources such as:

Fellowships & Scholarships Abroad

Being awarded a competitive fellowship will help your graduate school application to stand out, and give you the experience that you need to passionately assert your research interests and career goals.

Fulbright Fellowships

Perhaps the most popular and well-known post-baccalaureate fellowship program is Fulbright, which offers a variety of opportunities funded by the US government including:

Fulbright applications typically open in April and are due in mid-October (see full timeline for current competition cycle information). However, applications are also screened by your listed home campus, and each campus sets its own internal timeline. CSUSB has set an internal deadline of the second Monday in September annually for submitting a Fulbright application. You will then be contacted by the campus program advisor to set up an interview. This interview is required before CSUSB can certify your application, unlocking it for you to complete the application process.

Regional Scholarships & Fellowships

Some fellowship opportunities are specific to study in one region or country. Consider, for example:

Africa

Asia

Australia

Europe

Latin America

Middle East
